ATA to begin construction on new Bradford Multimodal Transit Facility
The Area Transportation Authority of North Central Pennsylvania (ATA), along with the City of Bradford are excited to announce the beginning of construction on a new, Multimodal Transit Facility. The project has been many years in planning and design and will now move into the construction phase.
ATA wishes to acknowledge the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the Federal Transit Administration, and the member counties of ATA – Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson, McKean, and Potter, for their commitment to this project. The new Facility will have a positive and lasting impact on the Bradford Community, ensuring access to public transportation, enhancing mobility and freedom for the public. ATA is excited to work with the prime contractors selected through an open bid process. The Bob Cummins Construction Company (Bradford, PA) general trades, the Wm. T. Spaeder Company (Erie, PA), mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and Pure Tech, Inc. (Bradford, PA), electrical. The construction manager for this project is Michael Baker International. The project was designed and engineered by Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. (JMT).
ATA Chief Executive Officer, Mark Head states, “ATA has worked closely with the City of Bradford planning for this multimodal transit center. This facility will serve various intercity and interstate transit companies in Bradford and will allow ATA to complement transit needs within the ATA North Central Region. Increasing mobility in Bradford and the surrounding community will help make Bradford a better place to live and work for everyone.”
